Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into an old people's home. It was rebuilt in 1820 but includes remnants of a 17th-century building. The rear section seems to be from the late 19th century. The exterior features an ashlar facade and hammer-dressed stone, with some quoins. It has a hipped slate roof with ashlar stacks and dentil brackets at the gutter. The building is two storeys high, with a first-floor sill band at the front. The central part has three bays, with a later conservatory added between two projecting hipped blocks on the left and a single bay projecting gabled block on the right. Both projecting blocks have ground floor bows with three single lights and sash windows. The right gable includes a projecting stack with quoins, likely from the 17th century, although there is no sign of a fireplace inside.
Inside, the building has been mainly altered. There are panelled shutters on the windows. The day room features two large six-panel curved corner doors, one of which is a dummy. The staircase has turned wooden balusters, and parts of a double chamfered window can be seen from the cellar on the right gable end.
