Description
Nos 21A, 21, and 23 on Westgate are 18th century buildings, possibly dating to the 17th century. They are rendered and feature a pitched stone slate roof. Number 21A has a simple yet attractive 19th century shopfront, with a door that has a three-centred arched head. Number 21 includes a shopfront with a three-light stone mullioned window and a door with moulded panels. On the first floor, there is a three-light stone mullioned sash window with contemporary glazing bars. Number 23 has a single-light shop window and a late 19th century door, along with a two-light stone mullioned window on the first floor. The end gable of Number 21A features a five-light stone mullioned window, though four of the lights are blocked. The rear of Number 21A has a slight projection with a range of three-light stone mullioned sashes that also have glazing bars. Numbers 21 and 23 each have a four-light stone mullioned casement window on the first floor and a two-light stone mullioned casement window on the ground floor. The mullions at the rear have stop-chamfered profiles.
