Description

Lock 24, known as Gauxholme Highest Lock, was built in 1798 as part of the Rochdale Canal. It features large dressed stone retaining walls that include rebates for gates. This lock is designed to accommodate a double set of bottom gates. For further reference, see Lock 20.
