Description

The gate piers to the garden front of Lower Ashes Farmhouse were built around 1759, likely at the same time as alterations to the farmhouse itself. They are made of ashlar stone and are square in shape, featuring fluted Doric pilasters on two faces. At the top, there is a wide dentil cornice that is topped with a ball finial.
