Description
Cross Gap is a late 17th century house with an added early 19th century barn, constructed from large dressed stone and featuring a stone slate roof. The barn is located to the left of the house, which has a two-cell layout. The barn includes a segmental arched doorway with a reset stone above it inscribed with "R A S." Above this tablet, there are two corbels. To the left, there is a mistal doorway from 1674 with a chamfered surround. There is a clear break at the division between the barn and the house. The building is two storeys high and features two double chamfered mullioned windows of four lights, with a doorway between them that also has a chamfered surround. On the first floor, there are chamfered mullioned windows with two, two, and three lights. The gables are coped with kneelers and topped with ball finials. There are two stacks along the ridge, and the rear of the building retains double chamfered mullioned windows of four and five lights, along with an opposed cart entry.
