Description
Jack Hey Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared millstone grit and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two windows on the first floor, with a wing extending to the rear right and a rear entry.
The south front of the farmhouse has quoins and displays double-chamfered mullion windows. On the ground floor, there are three windows with 3, 4, and 2 lights, while the first floor has two windows, each with 2 lights. Some of the mullions have been renewed. A corniced stack is located on the left side of the front roof pitch, with another stack on the right gable. The roof has ashlar coping and a finial on the left gable.
At the rear, there is a 20th-century door on the right, accompanied by a 3-light flat-faced mullion window (possibly renewed) to its left and a single-light window further left. Above this, to the left, is a 2-light double-chamfered mullion window. The single-storey gabled wing has quoins, a small inserted light, shaped kneelers, ashlar coping, and a corniced gable stack. The right return of the wing features a 4-light flat-faced mullion window, while the left return has a door with tie-stones on the left and a 4-light flat-faced mullion window. The right return of the house has two 2-light flat-faced mullion windows on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
