Description

This is a mid-17th century house, linked to an early 19th century two-cell cottage, with a mid-19th century barn attached. The house is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The 19th century cottage has a doorway with monolithic jambs and a flat-faced mullioned window of four lights to the ground floor, with a similar window of three lights above. The barn projects forward with a higher roofline and quoins. It has a segmental arched cart entry with a dropped keystone and arch-headed ventilators. The original 17th century house comprises two cells, one wing being under a cat-slide roof, with the main range projecting forward. It has rock-faced quoins and a string course. A double-chamfered mullioned window of five lights with a matching window above is visible on its front. A second cell is set back, featuring a doorway with monolithic jambs and rock-faced lintel to the left of a double-chamfered mullioned window of two lights, with a three-light window above it. The rear elevation features similar mullioned windows and a cart entry to the barn. Three stacks are visible along the ridge.
