Description
Manor Buildings, a large warehouse and chamber block, was built in 1892 and designed by the architects Waugh and Isitt of Leeds. The building features a large-scale, simple classical style and stands six storeys tall with an attic, constructed from ashlar sandstone. It has a splayed southern corner facing School Street. The ground floor is highlighted by an entablature and is divided into pairs of bays by broad pilasters. There are sill bands on the upper floors, a bracket cornice, and a parapet, with a slated mansard attic above. The first-floor windows are adorned with cornices and steep pediments over the centre. The building is prominently situated on a hillside, rising above Midland Station.
