Description
This is a row of six cottages, numbered 9 to 15, situated on the south side of Highgate Road in Clayton Heights/Old Dolphin. The cottages were built around 1820 to 1840, constructed from sandstone that appears like brickwork. They are set alongside a row of lower houses. The roofs are covered with stone slate. Each cottage has two wooden casement windows on the first floor, and two-light, square-mullioned windows on the ground floor. All the windows are set within squared stone surrounds. The doorways have squared jambs. The cottages are included on the heritage list because of their contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
