Description
This is a row of cottages, numbered 1 to 15 (odd) and 3A, dating to circa 1820-30. The cottages are built of sandstone, appearing brick-like, and are set along a slightly curving building line. They have stone slate roofs and corniced chimneys. Each cottage originally had one or two windows, featuring squared frame, two-light square mullioned windows with wooden casements or sashes. Number 3A has a three-light window on the first floor. The doorways have squared jambs and are plain. This is a good example of a small-scale cottage row characteristic of the period, demonstrating group value through its cohesive design and scale.
