Description
Nos 23 and 25 Syke Road is a pair of cottages that were originally built as one house in 1736 and later divided around 1800. The building is two stories high and constructed from rendered gritstone, topped with a stone slate roof that features flanking chimneys. At the rear, there is an outshut. The façade has flush quoins and two windows, which are two-light, although they were originally three or four-light windows with squared mullions and squared surrounds. There are squared jamb doorways located at the center of the building. Above the doorways, there is a stone panel inscribed with the initials T over R M and the date 1734.
