Description
Syke House is a house built in the early 19th century. It features a front made of hammer-dressed stone, with rubble brought to course on the sides and rear, and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay symmetrical facade. The entrance has a doorway with monolithic jambs and a rectangular fan-light above. The windows are 16-paned sashes with projecting sills, and there are gutter brackets. The gables are coped and have kneelers and stacks. At the rear, there is a doorway with monolithic jambs and a window with plain stone surrounds to the right. Additionally, there are three chamfered-mullioned windows, each with two lights, and a tall stair window with tie-stone jambs.
Inside, there is a dog-leg staircase featuring a closed string, square stick balusters, and gun-barrel newels with rings.
