Description
The raised terrace, balustrade, and steps at the south front of Farfield Hall date from the early 18th century. Constructed of ashlar, the terrace features dressed stone walls with cyma-moulded copings that end in square piers. A flight of five stone steps, with the treads designed as imposts, leads up to the entrance. The terrace is flagged with stone and includes a circular feature. At the entrance, there is a broad stone landing with two shell-shaped steps, which are flanked by circular stone drums. On either side of the terrace, square piers with recessed panels support a moulded rail and vase-shaped turned stone balusters.
