Description

This is a terrace of six improved worker's houses, numbered 2 to 7, located on Lower School Street in Saltaire. Completed in 1868, they were designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt as part of the Saltaire model village. The houses are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and have Welsh slate roofs.

The terrace is two storeys high, with each house originally having two bays. Number 7 breaks slightly forward and features a bracketed gable. The entrances are set within stepped reveals, each with a fanlight above the door. Ground-floor windows are round-arched and archivolted. Number 7 is distinguished by a triple window with round-arched lights on the first floor, whereas the remaining houses have square-headed windows on this level. A sill band runs across the first floor. Original sash windows are present in Number 7.
