Description
The Upper George Public House is a public house dating from around 1840, which is now combined with an adjoining cottage to form a single property. It is two storeys tall and constructed of sandstone "brick." The roof is made of stone slate and features dentil brackets at the eaves, saddlestones, and corniced chimneys. The building has single and two-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds. The cottage has a plain squared jamb doorway, while the public house has a pilastered doorway with an entablature. This property is included for its group value.
