Main L shaped block of Stable, Coach House and barn enclosing the Court to north of the Hall (formerly listed as outbuildings at SE 1428 64/89 4.9.52 Royds Hall)

  1. Dated 1663 and 1686 with some late C18 and early C19 alterations. A fine L plan range of stables, coach house and barn on the sides of forecourt to hall. Two-storeys, coursed gritstone and sandstone "brick". Hipped stone slate roofs with bracketed eaves. The elevation of north range facing the court has a doorway with chamfered shaped head dated 1663. Four circular ashlar framed first floor windows and 3 light chamfered mullion windows on ground floor. Doorway to left hand by corner dated 1686. The north front to road has 2 light chamfered mullion ground floor windows, and on first floor pairs of round-headed lights. The coach house inside this range has a double braced crown post roof structure mid to late C18. The south return range has square mullion windows and at the south end a pentice with external flight of steps giving onto a small service court.
