Description
The buildings at 3 to 21 Briggs Place, Wibsey, were probably built as a farmhouse in the middle to late 18th century and later converted into a back-to-back tenement. The construction is of irregularly coursed sandstone, which appears like brick, with flush quoins. The roof is covered in stone slate, with saddlestones and cut shaped kneelers, and features corniced chimneys. The windows have squared surrounds; some have been renewed or altered mullions. The doorways have plain squared jambs. The rear elevation retains original two- and three-light square mullion windows. The buildings are included on the list due to their group value as dwellings and for the presence of earlier fabric.
