Description
This is a group of sandstone cottages, built around 1820, located at Green End in Clayton. The cottages, numbered 15 to 19, appear externally as if they were constructed from brick. They have stone slate roofs and corniced chimneys. Number 15 projects forward and incorporates a sill band on the first floor. The windows are square-shaped with mullions, although some have been altered, and sit within squared frames. The doorways have squared jambs. A shop front has been built out at number 19. Number 15 features a well-moulded cast iron rainwater head. The group is listed for its contribution to the area’s character.
