Description

These are two cottages, originally a single dwelling built in the 17th or early 18th century and later altered and extended around 1800. Number 17 is constructed of thin sandstone "bricks," while number 19 utilizes standard-sized stones. Both cottages have stone slate roofs and saddlestones on number 17. The red brick chimneys, likely dating to the early 19th century, are distinctive for this part of Bradford. Number 17 features five-light chamfered mullion windows on the first floor, each with a drip mould above and side lights added circa 1800. A similar window on the ground floor has had two mullions removed. A chamfered doorway is on the left side, with rounded corners to the large lintel. Number 19 has four-light square mullion windows on both floors and a squared jamb doorway. The cottages face the north yard of Town Bottom Farm.
