Description
This is a barn located approximately 12 metres to the east of number 29, known as Bankhouse Farm, in Braithwaite Village. It was built in the late 18th century and is constructed from coursed millstone grit with a stone slate roof. The barn features quoins and a segmental-arched cart entrance that has quoins and voussoirs, along with a pitching hole above. There are two plain stone surround doorways with interrupted jambs; the doorway on the right is now blocked, while the one on the left has been converted into a window. The right side has a kneeler and coping, and the left gable includes dove holes with shelves, while the right gable has triangular headed vents. This barn is noted for its group value within the local context.
