Description
The Belle Vue Public House is a public house built around 1870-1880, featuring a design that shows slight French Chateau influences, possibly by the architects Hilmes and France, as indicated by its corner treatment that resembles the nearby Bavaria Place Police Station. The building stands two storeys tall and is constructed from high-quality sandstone ashlar, topped with a mansard slate attic. Notably, the south corner of the building includes a circular tower that extends into the mansard attic and is capped with a conical slate roof. A balustered balcony encircles the tower on the first floor and extends over the porch, which is supported by ornate Composite columns. Additionally, there is a canted bay at the north end of the ground floor and dormers in the attic.
