Description
Mount Stead is a 17th-century building located on Ben Rhydding Drive in Ilkley. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a stone slab roof. The building has two storeys and includes a projecting porch with a lintel inscribed "D.I.S. 1605." Above the porch, there is a bedroom that has a five-light window. The gable is adorned with finials at the top and on the kneelers. To the left of the porch, there are three windows arranged with two lights, three lights, and another three-light window that has a transom and a gable with a finial above it. To the right of the porch, there is one three-light window. Below the porch, there are projections on either side. All the windows feature chamfered mullions. It is believed that the building was probably constructed by one of the Stead family.
