Description

Nos 241 and 243 on Idle Road are a pair of cottages built in the latter part of the 18th century, with No 243 being a slightly later construction. They are made of sandstone "brick" and feature large dressed flush quoins. The cottages have a stone slate roof with saddlestones and large end chimney stacks. The windows include single and two-light square mullioned designs set in squared surrounds, although the ground floor of No 241 has been altered. The doorways are plain and also set in squared surrounds.
