Description
No 66 on Main Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and a back-to-back dwelling. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and was partially refaced in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed millstone grit and has a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with two first-floor windows.
The central entrance features a 20th-century glazed door set in a plain stone surround, flanked by modern shop windows with stone lintels. To the left, there is a through-passage. On the first floor, there are two flat-faced mullion windows in plain stone surrounds, with projecting cills; the left window has two lights, while the right window has three lights. There is an end stack on the right side of the building. At the rear, there is a blocked door with a two-light window above it. The left side of the building has an original door on the right that is now blocked, along with a small blocked window in the gable. This building is included for its group value.
