Description
The Grange is a Gothic Revival building located on the corner of Main Street and Station Road in Burley in Wharfedale. It is two storeys tall and constructed of ashlar stone. The north front, which faces the street, features a tripartite design with a central gablet topped by an octagonal chimney and flanked by buttresses. There are corner turrets and three two-light windows above, with the central window having pointed heads. The ground floor has a triple pointed arch opening in the centre, adorned with cusped metal lattice glazing bars, including an overlight and a central door with cusped panels below. Above this, there is perpendicular panelling with crenellation. The left-hand window has two lights, while the right-hand window is a seven-light bay with crenellation above.
The east front, which faces the garden, is much longer and also tripartite. It features turrets at the corners, with the centre section set forward and topped by a pediment-like gable and flanking buttresses. There is a four-light bay window with cusped panels above and a crenellated balcony on the upper storey. Additionally, there are two and three-light windows with mullions, some of which have transoms, all featuring dripmoulds.
