Description
This is a four-storey mill warehouse that is part of the premises of John Peel and Son Limited, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with a rock-faced finish on the ground-floor basement at the front, and features a corrugated iron roof.
The gable facing the road has two semicircular-arched cart entries, one of which is blocked. There is a band above the ground floor only. Each of the three upper floors has a taking-in-door with tie-stone jambs; the taking-in-door on the top floor includes a cat-head. On either side of these doors are single-light windows with projecting sills. The left-hand side of the building has four bays of similar windows, but only on the top floor. The right-hand side has five bays of windows on the ground and first floors, and seven bays on the second floor. There are later buildings attached to the lower floors.
