Description
The Old Mill Restaurant is a textile mill and warehouse that has been converted into a restaurant and flat. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with an attic and basement, and features a symmetrical three-bay facade.
The central bay includes a tall doorway with tie-stone jambs on the ground floor. The doorway on the first floor is blocked, while the second-floor doorway has a projecting tie-stone on the left jamb that holds a swivel hoist. Each floor has single windows on either side, complete with lintels and sills. The eaves cornice is modillioned and continues around the right gable, forming a triangular pediment with a coped gable.
