Description
Roundabout Hostel is a former row of four houses, now serving as a hostel, with an attached boundary wall. The building dates from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features gabled and hipped roofs made of slate and stone slate, along with three ridge stacks and two gable stacks. The structure has three storeys plus garrets and a total of twelve windows across the front facade.
The windows are plain sashes, with twelve smaller plain sashes located above. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a canted hipped bay window flanked by single doors. To the right of this bay window, there is another similar bay window, which is flanked on the left by two windows and on the right by a door. Further to the right, there are two additional windows followed by another door. All doors are adorned with moulded stone surrounds and flat hoods supported by curved brackets.
The left return of the building features a hipped two-storey addition with a single window, and below it, there is a square wooden three-light bay window. The right return has a similar addition, with a window on each floor and a stone slate roof. Each gable includes two garret windows.
The exterior also includes an attached brick boundary wall topped with gabled stone coping and ten square gate piers, each with chamfered square caps. The interior has not been inspected.
