Description

Grange Farmhouse, along with its adjoining boundary wall, stables, coach house, and barn, is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. The buildings date from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century and 20th century. They are constructed from coursed squared stone, partly pebbledashed, and brick, featuring ashlar dressings. The roofs are made of stone slate and corrugated asbestos, with two coped stone gable stacks and a single gable and ridge stack. The building has quoins.

The farmhouse itself is two storeys high and has a three-window range. It features three 19th-century two-light casements. Below these is a pilaster doorcase with a cornice, leading to a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, flanked by single 19th-century French windows. The boundary wall to the left is approximately 100 meters long and has ramped half-round coping. Beside the house, there is a plank door with stone jambs and a lintel.

To the north are the stables and coach house, which are also two storeys tall and have a six-window range. There is an off-centre pair of close boarded doors accessed by a stone stair, flanked by single two-light glazing bar casements. To the left of the stair is a smaller casement, and to the right is a larger renewed casement. Below the stair are two small casements, with a door to their left flanked by a three-light casement on the left and a slatted casement on the right. To the right of the stair are two doors, followed by a small casement, and then two altered carriage openings with double doors.

The barn to the east is also two storeys high and has an asbestos cement roof. To the left are two garage doors, with a small casement to their right, flanked by a door on the left and a segment-headed double door on the right. To the right again is a lean-to brick addition with a stone slate roof. There are single plain and glazing bar sashes, and to the right is a small casement. The left gable of the barn features a loft door and several triangular breathers. The interior has not been inspected.
