Description
Cadman Street Canal Bridge is a canal bridge built around 1819 and restored in the late 20th century. It was likely designed by William Chapman, a canal engineer, for the Sheffield Canal Company. The bridge is constructed of brick with a facing of coursed squared stone and features a string course. It has a single half-round skew arch with imposts. The curved brick parapet walls have slab coping and square piers on the east side. The canal connecting Sheffield to Tinsley was opened in 1819.
