Description
Sothall Green Farmhouse and attached cartshed, dating back to the late 18th century, with an addition from the mid-19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has slate roofs with coped gables and kneelers. There are three brick gable stacks and quoins. The main block features three plain sash windows on the upper floor and, below, a partially glazed six-panel door flanked by a glazing bar sash to the left and a plain sash to the right. A kitchen wing is set back to the right, with a plain gable and a small casement window positioned off-centre, flanked by single twelve-pane sashes. Below this are a small fixed light and a two-light sliding sash window. A single-story lean-to addition extends to the far right. Attached to the left is a single-story cartshed, with a brick front facing south-east and a coursed rubble front facing the farmyard. The cartshed has a corrugated asbestos roof and five openings, now containing two stable doors and alternating windows. A passage connects the cartshed to the house. The interior features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
