Description
This monument, erected in 1837, honors William Parker, a merchant from Sheffield. It was built by the merchants and manufacturers of the city. The structure features a square stepped base that supports a corniced square pedestal with an inscription. Atop this pedestal is a circular lantern adorned with fluted Corinthian columns, a festooned base, and an inscribed cornice, all culminating in a dome. The monument is made of white marble and is located 40 meters south-west of the Old Chapel at the General Cemetery on Cemetery Road.
