Description
The entrance lodge to King Edward VII Orthopaedic Hospital was built in 1913 by architect A.W. Kenyon. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped pantile roof with a coped central ridge stack. Designed in the Neo-Georgian style, the lodge has a moulded eaves cornice and is a single storey with attics. The central doorway is framed by a rusticated surround and is flanked by two 16-pane sash windows with plain surrounds. Above the doorway, there is a central box dormer that also contains a 16-pane sash window. The right side of the building has two similar sash windows, while the left side has one, each with a single dormer above. The interior has not been inspected.
