Description

Danby House is a farmhouse built in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone and features a pantile roof. The building has three storeys and three windows on the first floor. A cement-rendered plinth and large quoins add to its character. The central doorway is framed by a corniced ashlar surround. The windows are fitted with 20th-century PVC frames but retain glazing bars in the original openings, which have projecting sills and rendered wedge lintels. The second-floor windows are topped with keystones and sit beneath unrendered flat arches that extend to the eaves. There are short end stacks, each with a decorative band.
