Description

The farmbuilding at Spa House Farm, located approximately 12 metres to the south-west of the farmhouse, is a combination structure that has been converted into loose boxes and a store with a hayloft above. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed of deeply-coursed dressed sandstone with a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and features five openings on the first floor, with quoins at the right end.

On the ground floor, there are two doorways framed in rebated ashlar surrounds, with the right doorway flanked by square window openings that have slatted casements. Above the left doorway, there is a loading hatch with a square-faced surround. The first floor has four openings: two with slatted casements, and two that are infilled with slit vents, all featuring lintels that are tooled as voussoirs. A bell on an iron frame is positioned at the far left of the building. The structure has shaped kneelers and square-cut gable copings.

On the left return, there are two elaborate round-arched openings that once served as a carriage house, featuring a central cylindrical pier, matching imposts, and tooled voussoirs. Additionally, there are three ashlar-dressed slit vents for the loft. An attached outbuilding on the right return is not of special interest.
