Description
Grange Lane Farmhouse, now divided into three dwellings, was built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from deeply coursed, squared sandstone and has a roof covered with 20th-century cement tiles. The farmhouse is three storeys high, originally with three bays, and includes a two-storey wing at the rear. A plinth and large quoins are visible externally. The central entrance features a 20th-century panelled door set within an architrave with a plain frieze and moulded cornice, which has been slightly tilted to the left. Windows are set in plain ashlar surrounds with projecting sills. The ground and first floors have a mix of four-pane sashes and altered windows, while the second-floor windows are shorter and have 20th-century casements. Moulded kneelers and square-cut gable copings are present. The end stacks are made from shouldered ashlar with plain bands, with the left stack being rendered.
