Description
This external cellar, likely built in the late 18th century, is constructed from magnesian limestone and is located approximately 20 meters south of the Stone Mill. It features a segmentally-arched opening set into a north-facing grass bank. Inside, the subterranean vault is lined with stone shelves. The cellar was built away from the Stone Mill, which, due to its function as a watermill, likely could not accommodate an internal cellar for food storage. This structure is an interesting survival and contributes to the group value with the listed Stone Mill in the parish of Maltby.
