Description
This is a combination farmbuilding, likely built in the early 19th century, located approximately 40 metres northeast of Nickerwood Farmhouse. It is constructed from deeply-coursed, dressed red sandstone and features a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and consists of six bays. It has a plinth and large quoins.
On the north side, which faces away from the farmyard, there are quoined doorways to bays four and six, both featuring deep lintels (the door to bay six is blocked). The flanking bays have groups of three slit vents, some of which are blocked. There is a large entrance to bay two with quoins and a flat arch that has been infilled, with a smaller door now inserted; bay one has a window. The first-floor band is interrupted by a deepened doorway to bay three, which has a plain lintel, while bay six has a similar, unaltered doorway. The other bays contain blocked circular pitching holes with ashlar surrounds. The roof is hipped. Attached farmbuildings are not considered of special interest. This building is included for its group value.
