Description

The remains of a cross, likely from the late medieval period, are located approximately 8 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. Oswald in Kirk Sandall. This structure is made of magnesian limestone and features an octagonal base with pyramidal corner stops. The weathered shaft, set in a square socket, rises to about 1 metre in height. It is believed that this cross was later repurposed as a sundial pedestal.
