Description
The dovecote, located approximately 50 metres west of the Manor House, dates from the 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble magnesian limestone, with repairs made in brick, and features stone slate eaves courses beneath a pantile roof. The structure is two storeys high and has two bays, with quoins present.
On the west side, which faces the Manor House, there is a square-headed opening with a wooden lintel on the right and an infilled brick archway on the left above an inserted stable door. Continuous stone ledge steps rise to the right, leading up to a 20th-century casement window and a bricked opening. The gable has shaped kneelers and remnants of gable copings. On the right return, the ledge steps extend over to form a hood for a double-chamfered two-light window that is missing its mullion.
Inside, there are stone nesting holes.
