Description
This sundial pedestal, located approximately 20 metres south of Wadworth Hall, is likely from the mid-18th century and was created for Josias Wordsworth of Wadworth Hall. It is made of magnesian limestone and features a circular plinth with a nosing, topped by a vase-shaped baluster that has a turned foot, gadrooning, and a plain neck. The round platform is currently without a sundial. This pedestal serves as the centerpiece of the formal garden at the entrance front of the hall and is included for its group value.
