Description
Hermit Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 'T B A / 1760', with a 19th-century addition. It is constructed of deeply-coursed dressed sandstone and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features a window arrangement of 1:2 on the first floor. The original part of the house, located on the right, has large quoins and a 20th-century porch to the left of the centre, which encloses the original doorway with a dated lintel. The flanking windows on this section have 6-pane sashes with thin stone sills and deep lintels, and similar sashes are found above. The later addition on the left has two ground-floor windows and one first-floor window, all of which are 6-pane sashes. There is a corniced ashlar end stack from the 18th century on the right, along with later stacks at the left end of the original house and the left end of the addition.
