Description
This is a barn located to the northeast of Lower Lewden Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century with later additions. It is constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The barn is two storeys high. The south front includes a doorway on the right and an off-centre set of steps leading to the first floor. To the left, there are two windows and a blocked doorway. Above, there is an off-centre loft doorway and two glazed windows to the right. The north front has two windows with deeply chamfered ashlar surrounds, both of which originally had mullions. Inside, the barn boasts a large, well-preserved roof with ashlar roof trusses and overlapping purlins.
