Description

This raised grave slab, dating from around 1740, is located approximately 10 metres south of the south porch of the Church of All Hallows in High Hoyland. It is made of sandstone and features a moulded edge with relief decoration at the top corners. The inscription commemorates Sarah, the wife of John Ellis of Topit, who died in 1740 at the age of 63, as well as John Ellis of Topit, who died in 1768 at the age of 93.
