Description
Numbers 2 and 2A Rockley Old Hall, also known as The Great Barn, is a barn that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the early 18th century and underwent conversion around 1980. The building is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone and features a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has five bays. The large quoins are a notable feature, along with a glazed central waggon entrance that has chamfered ashlar quoins and voussoirs forming a segmental arch, with three slit vents positioned above it.
To the left of the entrance, there is a French window in bay 1, while the other bays contain two-light casements in new openings with plain lintels. The first-floor casements are transomed and include small keystones. There are various original slit vents located between the windows. The building also has shaped kneelers and chamfered gable copings, with stone end stacks located below the ridge. The rear of the building is similar in appearance. This listing is included for its group value.
