Description
Numbers 3 and 4 Rockley Old Hall are former cowhouses that have been converted into two dwellings. They date from the early 18th century and were converted around 1980. The buildings are constructed from coursed, squared sandstone and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, with a layout of two bays on one side and three bays on the other, along with a single-storey wing to the rear left.
The structure has large quoins and a central doorway that is quoined, now fitted with a casement beneath an original flat arch with a cambered head. There are 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars in new openings that have plain lintels, a single-light window to the right of the centre, and a part-glazed door in bay 4. The eaves line is higher on bays 3 to 5, and the building features shaped kneelers and chamfered gable copings. There is a 20th-century end stack on the right with tabling, and another stack is located in front of the ridge between bays 2 and 3. The buildings are included for their group value.
