Description
The piers, wall, and railings at the front area of the Court House Building in Barnsley were constructed in 1861 by Reeves. The structure features five square ashlar piers that have vermiculated panels and moulded caps, with one pier supporting an ornamental cast-iron lamp standard. There is a low ashlar wall topped with rounded coping, and heavy cast-iron railings that include bulbous rails and bars. This structure is included for its group value.
