Description
The Rose and Crown Public House is a former pair of houses dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features painted render and has a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and has five bays. The windows on the ground floor are mid-20th century casements with leaded glazing, while the first-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with horns, all having raised painted surrounds. Between the second and third bays, there is a pedimented Doric pilaster doorcase that includes a plain rectangular overlight and a door with six raised and fielded panels. The building has a modillioned gutter cornice, and the gables are coped. There are chimneys on the left-hand gable and behind the ridge between the third and fourth bays. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly known as The Friendly Inn.
