Description
This early 19th-century shop and flat is located on Lawrence Street in York. The building is constructed of brick with a hipped slate roof. It has three storeys and two bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick flat arches. The first floor has a stone balcony with scrolled cast-iron railings. The shopfront features a 20th-century doorway and window, but retains a mutuled timber cornice. A doorway leading to the flat is set to the right and includes a pilaster doorcase with panelled reveals, a door with four raised and fielded panels, and a plain rectangular overlight. A bracketed timber gutter cornice runs along the top. A truncated chimney stack is visible to the left. The interior of the building was not inspected.
