Description

This is a horse drinking trough located approximately 31 metres south of numbers 29 and 31 on Lawrence Street in York. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century and is made of cast iron. The trough has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and features concave sides. On the north side, there is a plaque that reads: 'PRESENTED BY THE YORK BRANCH OF THE RSPCA TO THE CITY OF YORK'. The trough is currently disused and filled with soil.
